The Ozark and Fantastic Four star confirmed on the SmartLess podcast that she’s still attached to the project, which has shifted from a feature film to a Netflix miniseries.

And did you hear? Word is Madonna is now working with Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy.

Garner said, “Yeah, I mean, that’s supposed to still happen,” adding that she’s a longtime fan of Madonna. “I grew up listening to her,” she said.

She also shared what landing the role looked like. “I wasn’t a trained dancer,” Garner admitted, “so I had to learn how to dance, and then dance in front of Madonna. And sing. With her. It was kind of like: prove you belong here.”

To get through the nerves, she said she channeled her inner Madonna. “I’d ask myself, ‘What would Madonna do?’ And then I just walked into the room and owned it. Like, you can take it or leave it—but if you leave it, that’s on you.”

As for when you’ll actually see it? The project’s been in development limbo for a while now, and Garner hinted at the long timeline: “I also feel like anything that’s great takes a long time.”
