Singer Brittany Howard and band released some pictures from the studio last week, and you’d have to be dumb to not see they’re back together and ready to do an extensive headline tour this summer!

As you can see below, Alabama Shake’s first tour in eight years starts in Chicago’s The Salt Shed Fairgrounds on July 16, and (so far) wraps up on September 27 in Irving, Texas’ The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory. Tickets go on sale on February 14.

“The wait is over…we’re back!” they wrote. “Last year, Heath, Zac, and I started chatting about how much fun it would be to make music together and tour again as Alabama Shakes. This band and these songs have been such a source of joy for all of us. It is crazy that it has been 10 years since we released ‘Sound and Color’ and eight years since we played a show.”

Meanwhile, Howard’s new hardcore band, Kumite, played their first show in Nashville in January.

Right on. Alabama Shakes is a solid band. Good to see them get back together to play some shows and release new music!
