Adele Announces, “I will not see you for an incredibly long time”

Adele told fans that you won’t see her perform anytime soon once she finishes the remaining shows on her Las Vegas residency.

This past Saturday night (August 31) was her final performance at her Munich residency, where she played 10 nights in August at the built-for-her 80,000 capactiy Messe München arena in Germany. Those were Adele’s first shows in mainland Europe since 2016.

Earlier this year, Adele said she won’t be creating new music anytime soon.

And at this Munich show, she told the crowd, “I’m not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very fucking good at it. And I have really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I’ll ever do.”

Adele has 10 more shows at her Vegas Residency (they were postponed earlier in the year due to illness). “After that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time.”

“I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break, and I will fantasize about these shows and any shows that I’ve done over the last three years. It has been amazing, I just need a rest. I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now.”

 

She went on to thank the fans, “I will remember these shows for eternity, they have been spectacular” and then led a tearful sing-a-long of ‘Someone Like You’.

 

Adele seems to be moving away from performing live. Shame. She’s incredible. Who else do you wish would do the same thing?
