Okay, this should be good! A new ‘The Mummy’ movie is in the works, and Evil Dead Rise’s Lee Cronin is at the helm!

Word is, Cronin will write and direct the movie (which doesn’t have a title). It’s set to hit theatres on April 17, 2026.
A cast has yet to be announced. Wonder if Tom Cruise is coming back?
Cronin talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the upcoming reboot, “This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before. I’m digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening.”
Cronin’s take on The Mummy will be the third version to date. Brendan Fraser started things with Stephen Sommers’ 1999 version. Fraser did a trilogy of movies before it was rebooted in ’17 with Tom Cruise in the lead role.
Do we need another ‘Mummy’ movie? Maybe not. But there’s so much potential creativity within that world, my question is: why not?!
