Is Lindsey Buckingham Hinting At A Stevie Nicks Reunion?

Okay, you’ve seen enough Fleetwood Mac reunion rumours to know better than to get carried away. But this one is different. Lindsey Buckingham says he and Stevie Nicks are talking “all the time” now and when he adds that “next year should be a pretty interesting year,” well… you gotta wonder what that means.

Last year, Buckingham Nicks’ 1973 album was reissued, and Nicks revealed that she and Buckingham were back on speaking terms. Now Buckingham is suggesting that their reconciliation could lead to something more.

Speaking with E!, Buckingham talked about the upcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary and described making it as “a very circular healing process for all of us.”

Asked about a possible tour, he sidestepped the question and instead focused on what he sees as the bigger story: he and Nicks have finally repaired their relationship.

“Stevie and I are talking all the time now,” he said. “Next year should be a pretty interesting year, because I think quite a few things will reveal themselves.”

And here’s where you start paying attention.

Earlier this year, Buckingham was already talking about the renewed connection between himself and Nicks following the Buckingham Nicks reissue.

“What that translates to specifically, I wouldn’t want to speculate yet,” he said. “But I believe with all my heart it will translate to something good and something wonderful and something needed and something extremely appropriate.”

That’s still not a reunion announcement. It’s barely even a tease. But coming from Buckingham, after everything that happened between the two, it’s pretty damn intriguing.

Buckingham and Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac on New Year’s Eve 1974 after performing together as Buckingham Nicks. Both remained with the band until Buckingham left in 1987 and Nicks departed in 1990. They reunited with Fleetwood Mac in 1997, before Buckingham was fired in 2018.

The fallout was ugly. Buckingham said his departure was “all Stevie’s doing,” while Nicks denied that and said she had removed herself from a situation she considered toxic to her well-being.

For years, a reunion between the two seemed unlikely. Nicks has also said there is “no chance” of putting Fleetwood Mac back together without the late Christine McVie.

Buckingham, meanwhile, said in 2024 that he would return to Fleetwood Mac “in a heartbeat.”

Now the two are talking again. And with 2026 marking the 50th anniversary of Rumours, Buckingham says there are “quite a few things” that could reveal themselves.

So, yeah. Maybe we shouldn’t get carried away.

Do you think Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks are reuniting in 2027?
