You’ve likely seen the name Andrew Tate everywhere online over the past few years. Social media, in headlines, and in debates about online culture. Now, the controversy surrounding the influencer has moved into another major legal chapter, as Tate and his brother Tristan have been arrested in Miami after UK authorities issued dozens of new charges.

The brothers were arrested Saturday, July 18, following an extradition request from British authorities. The Crown Prosecution Service announced 38 additional charges against the pair, adding to an existing case already involving allegations of rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking.
According to the CPS, Andrew Tate faces seven further counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and 19 additional charges relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.
Additional charges against Tristan Tate include one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. The charges relate to alleged events between July 2010 and August 2017.
“We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offences including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offences relating to indecent images of a child,” Malcolm McHaffie, head of the CPS’s Special Crime Division, said.
“These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven.”
Bedfordshire police said the total number of charges against the brothers has now reached 59, with 42 against Andrew Tate and 17 against Tristan Tate. Assistant Chief Constable Karena Thomas said officers continue to work with the CPS and other national and international law enforcement agencies on what she described as a complex investigation.

The brothers have previously denied any wrongdoing. Following their arrest, lawyer Joseph McBride defended them, saying “the world knows Andrew and Tristan are innocent” and calling the new UK charges a “political hit.”
McBride also claimed the charges were connected to a defamation lawsuit filed by the brothers in the United States, saying they were designed to interfere with that legal action.
The new charges add to the 21 criminal charges the Tate brothers were already facing in the UK, including allegations of rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking.
Andrew Tate was first arrested in December 2022 alongside Tristan Tate and two Romanian women in a separate investigation involving allegations of rape, human trafficking and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. Their property in Romania was raided again in 2024.
The brothers have built a large following online through content centred around hypermasculinity, while Tate’s role in online communities has been examined in documentaries including Louis Theroux’s Inside The Manosphere.
As the legal process continues, the case remains one of the most closely watched involving a social media personality in recent years.
Will the latest charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate stick? Do you think they’ll face jail time?
