You’ve waited eight years. You’ve watched the comments pile up. You’ve seen the questions under every post. You’ve wondered when Breaking Benjamin would finally deliver the follow-up to Ember. Now, after years of writing, recording, re-recording and refining, the band says the wait is almost over.
Speaking with Moshpit Passion at Germany’s Rock am Ring, guitarists Jasen Rauch and Keith Wallen confirmed that the band’s long-awaited new album is officially complete.
“Well, the album’s done,” Rauch said. “There is a title for it. We are so close for everything coming out. We have some big announcements coming.”
According to Rauch, the road to finishing the record was anything but straightforward.
“We’ve been recording pretty much full time four years now post-pandemic. Some of these songs we re-recorded three different times. We’ve had a lineup change. There was some personal stuff going on, individually, families, things in the band. And so to kind of be on the back end of it now, I think it’s just something that we’re all really proud of.”
For Wallen, the reality that the album is finally finished is still sinking in.
“We’re done,” he said. “We see all the comments, we see all the fans saying, ‘When’s the new album coming out?’ Trust me, we are so ready to put it out. We are so excited.”
Fans won’t have to wait much longer for concrete details. Rauch revealed that the album’s release date is expected to be announced sometime this summer.
In fact, the record was only recently completed.
“We had one more line to record vocals on,” Rauch explained. “We had our stuff with us, so we’re like, ‘Do you mind if we punch this real quick?’ We recorded that line, and that was the last one for the record. We just got masters back. We’re doing some different artwork tweaks. All that stuff’s happening right now.”
The announcement comes just weeks after Breaking Benjamin released Something Wicked, a track that leans heavily into the band’s darker instincts while maintaining the massive hooks and emotional weight that have defined their sound for more than two decades.

Frontman Benjamin Burnley said the song reflects the band’s willingness to push themselves further than ever before.
“‘Something Wicked’ is a quick look into our influences both musically and thematically,” Burnley said. “We challenged ourselves especially hard on this record and on this song. We pushed every boundary we’ve previously had as far as it will go, then pushed a little more. ‘Something Wicked’ was the result.”
The band’s comeback cycle began in 2024 with the release of Awaken, their first new music since 2018. The single quickly became a major success, reaching No. 1 on the Rock Digital Songs chart and generating more than 131 million streams worldwide.
Meanwhile, Breaking Benjamin are back on European stages for the first time since 2017, touring through June and July with support from Chevelle and Return To Dust.
The band’s recent appearance at Welcome To Rockville also marked the first show featuring new drummer Brian Medeiros, who stepped into the touring lineup following James Cassells and the temporary departure of longtime drummer Shaun Foist as he continues dealing with Hashimoto’s disease.
After four years of recording, multiple revisions, lineup changes and one final vocal line tracked backstage at a festival, Breaking Benjamin’s next album is finally finished.
