Ozzy Osbourne To Return As AI Avatar

Imagine walking up to a screen somewhere in London or Los Angeles and hearing Ozzy Osbourne answer you back in that unmistakable voice. Same chaotic Ozzy energy that helped change rock music forever.

That’s exactly what the Osbourne family says is coming.

At Licensing Expo in Las Vegas on Wednesday (May 20), Sharon Osbourne and Jack Osbourne revealed plans for an AI-powered Ozzy avatar created with tech company Hyperreal.

The company has previously developed digital avatars for The Notorious B.I.G., Lionel Messi and Stan Lee.

“The digital DNA of Ozzy Osbourne, voice, image, movement,” Jack said while describing the project.

Sharon added: “You can ask Ozzy anything, and he will answer you in his own voice — and the answers will be what Ozzy would have said.”

“We’re going to take it all around the world. People can talk to him and he will talk back.”

The digital Ozzy will reportedly appear this summer in life-sized interactive touchscreens across the US and UK.

Jack admitted even he finds the technology unsettling.

“It’s kind of scary how it’s really very accurate,” he said. “He will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers.”

Hyperreal CEO Remington Scott said the avatar was built entirely from approved material provided by the Osbourne family.

“This is a living performance, not a rendering,” Scott explained. “It draws from nothing that wasn’t given willingly.”

Meanwhile, Proto Hologram founder David Nussbaum called the project “an honour,” saying the technology would help extend “Ozzy’s presence, his heart and soul, into the future.”

The announcement comes as work continues on the long-discussed Ozzy and Sharon biopic, which Jack says is still moving forward with a target release in 2028.
