The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame just released their 2026 inductees, and the lineup could have you chirping. As per usual.
The initial 17 nominees were announced back in February, and since then, a voting body of more than 1,200 artists, historians, and industry insiders trimmed the field to eight for the Performer category.
Eight names. Eight different lanes of influence. From metal gods to soul royalty to hip-hop architects.
To some, it’s ‘not rock’. Maybe a name change to the Music Hall of Fame?
The ’26 induction ceremony takes place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday November 14. It’ll air on ABC and Disney+ in December.

THE BIG STORYLINES
This year marks a record-setting moment for British representation, with six UK acts inducted. That breaks the previous high of five set in 2019, when Radiohead, The Cure, Def Leppard, Roxy Music, and The Zombies all entered together.
There’s history inside the history:
- Phil Collins enters as a solo artist after previously being inducted with Genesis in 2010.
- Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan are first-time nominees and first-time inductees.
- Sade and Billy Idol both land on their second nomination.
- Iron Maiden reach the Hall on their third try.
- Oasis extend their streak to three straight nominations (2024, 2025, 2026).
- Joy Division and New Order continue their combined campaign, appearing again as a single entry for the third time.
Eligibility hits 25 years after an artist’s first commercial release. After that, it’s survival of legacy, influence, and cultural impact.
And this year’s class? What are your overall thoughts?
