Christian Bale has confirmed he’s joining the cast of Heat 2, the sequel to Michael Mann’s 1995 crime masterpiece, Heat.

Did you even know this was happening?

As you’ll remember, the original film paired Al Pacino’s relentless detective against Robert De Niro’s disciplined master thief. Two men on opposite sides of the law. Same code. Same obsession. It’s widely considered one of the defining crime thrillers of the ’90s.

For years, a sequel felt unlikely. Now it’s real!

Leonardo DiCaprio and Adam Driver have long been rumoured to circle the project, and Bale just made it official in a casual mic-drop moment with Chicago’s Fox32. “I’ll be back in Chicago soon for Heat 2,” he said.

Plot details aren’t known. Or shooting. Budgeting. Scheduling. Casting. But the machine is turning!

Meanwhile, Bale isn’t exactly waiting around. He’s currently promoting The Bride!, a fresh spin on Frankenstein co-starring Jessie Buckley. He’s also stepping into the world of pro football in an upcoming biopic about legendary coach John Madden, with Nicolas Cage portraying Madden himself.

Bale’s keeping busy and Heat 2 just got added to the list! A brilliant actor, can’t wait to see how the sequel plays out!
