A new documentary, Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition, hits theatres worldwide on May 7, tracing the band’s five decades of gallop, grit and global domination. Tickets go on sale March 18.

Directed by Malcolm Venville, the doc digs deep into the band’s vault with unprecedented access to official archives. The members sit front and centre, alongside longtime co-manager Rod Smallwood, and a stacked list of famous disciples including actor Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich of Metallica, and Chuck D of Public Enemy.

The official line promises an intimate look at the band’s uncompromising vision and their ironclad bond with a global army of fans. If you’ve ever raised your fists to “The Trooper,” this one’s for you.

Formed in East London in 1975, Maiden dropped their self-titled debut five years later and never looked back. Seventeen studio albums followed, including 2021’s Senjutsu, and nearly 2,500 live shows across the planet. Stadiums. Festivals. Airfields. Name it.

The film arrives as the band continue their ‘Run For Your Lives’ tour, culminating in the EddFest celebration at Knebworth Park on July 11. Named after their immortal mascot Eddie, the event promises the biggest-ever Eddie’s Dive Bar, Maiden-themed food, and a supporting bill featuring The Darkness, The Hu, Airbourne and The Almighty.

And they’re not slowing down. The metal titans will headline the opening day of Louder Than Life in Louisville this September, sharing the weekend with My Chemical Romance, Tool and Limp Bizkit.

Five decades in. Still loud. Still lethal. And now it’s documented!
