Matty Healy Confirms Two The 1975 Albums Are in the Chamber

Bartender, make mine a double! The 1975 have two new albums locked and loaded!

You haven’t heard new music from them in three years. So, we’re due.

The 1975 released Being Funny In A Foreign Language in 2022 and singer Matty Healy let the cat out of the bag during a Q&A at Gateshead College, where he popped in ahead of his upcoming Sunday for Sammy charity gig.

A fan pressed him about that cryptic “DOGS” message that flashed at the end of their Glastonbury headlining set. Healy didn’t blink. “It’s the name of the album,” he said. “We made two. It might be one, it might be two… but yeah, we’ve made two albums.”

The band’s manager, Jamie Oborne, has been fanning the flames too, calling the new material “pretty extraordinary” and confirming the band are deep in studio mode. Release date? No clue. But Oborne made one thing clear: The 1975 are taking their time because the whole world will be listening.

Fans have been in detective mode since the band refreshed their logo, updated socials, and announced their return to the stage.

Back in 2022, during an interview with NME, Healy said he believed that The 1975 could be “the most important band of the ‘20s.”

Hey. Believe in yourself, right?

The 1975 is a dreadfully underrated band here in Canada. Or, at least there’s a drought on Canadian radio. Shame, I look forward to new music.
