Sabrina Carpenter Falls Down the Rabbit Hole for Alice in Wonderland Reboot

Sabrina Carpenter is diving down the rabbit hole. Quite literally.

If you missed it, the singer/actress is set to star in a new Alice in Wonderland reboot from Universal Pictures (a project she reportedly pitched herself nearly a year ago). According to The Hollywood Reporter, this one’s her “passion project”, and Carpenter is not only starring but producing too.

No release date or cast list yet, but the film’s in solid hands: writer-director Lorene Scafaria (Hustlers) is steering the trip through Lewis Carroll’s trippy Victorian fantasy.

Disney last cracked open Wonderland in 2010 with Tim Burton’s billion-dollar fever dream starring Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, and Anne Hathaway. That was followed by the 2016 sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass.

For Carpenter, this marks another step away from her Disney Channel roots and deeper into Hollywood’s big leagues. She’s also set to appear in Seth Rogen’s The Muppet Show revival special coming in 2026.

The timing couldn’t be better: Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend era is in full bloom, pulling in six Grammy nods (including Album and Song of the Year). Seems Sabrina just keeps levelling up!
