Jimmy Eat World is back with a new EP, Something(s) Loud, and it comes with a gift for longtime fans: the previously unreleased track Failure.
You don’t have that long a wait. The six-track EP is out this Friday (November 14) via the band’s own Exotic Location Recordings. It rounds up their recent digital-only singles, including Something Loud, Place Your Debts, and their Call to Love cover with Bethany Cosentino, alongside the long-shelved Failure, originally recorded during 2019’s Surviving sessions.
The track was engineered and mixed by Ken Andrews, co-founder and vocalist of the band Failure, marking Jimmy Eat World’s first new music since 2023’s Telepath.
Singer Jim Adkins said the EP was born out of reconnecting with fans post-pandemic: “Coming out of lockdown, it didn’t feel right to tour without offering something more. People were building playlists instead of waiting for albums, so we wanted to meet them where they were.”
