Slipknot’s not resting. They’re reloading.

The gears are grinding again in the Knot machine! In a new chat with Drummer’s Review, Slipknot’s drummer Eloy Casagrande confirmed what fans have been waiting to hear: new music is coming!`

“What I can tell you right now is that we are cooking, we are doing some new music, for sure,” Eloy said. “Since I joined the band, we have been working on some new ideas. We keep exchanging guitar riffs, drum beats… We had also some jam sessions. So we have a lot of material right now. We just have to sit and put everything together, start jamming, and it’s happening… new material is coming, for sure.”

That’s not all. Guitarist Jim Root recently told the Turning Wrenches podcast that touring’s on pause so the band can focus on what comes next.

“We’ve kind of had to do a lot of touring because of our drummer swap situation,” Root said. “Once we got Eloy in the band, we needed to get out there and show people why Eloy is part of Slipknot. That was extremely important. And that leads to now — we need to write a record.”

Root made it clear he’s calling time on the constant touring grind.

“I told our manager, I’m like, ‘Stop booking tours, dude. Stop it.’ … We owe it to Eloy to write a record. We need to get him in a room and start jamming and getting creative.”

Casagrande echoed the band’s creative energy in an interview with Veja São Paulo:

“They threw new ideas at me to see what my songwriting was like. They wanted to test me in every way.”

Still, he’s taking time to adjust to life inside Slipknot:

“I’m still trying to understand how the dynamics of the band work… We’ve written a few things, and they’re shelved for the time being.”

Slipknot’s currently riding their 25th anniversary wave, rocking the red jumpsuits and early-mask throwbacks as a nod to their 1999 roots.

Their last album, The End, So Far, dropped in 2022. How soon ’til we hear new music?
