Okay, this is cool. Netflix has given the thumbs up to creating a live-action Assassin’s Creed series!

Netflix just announced it picked up the adaptation. It’s been in the works since 2020 and it looks like it’s final going to happen.
Roberto Patino (Westworld, Sons of Anarchy) and David Wiener (Halo, The Killing) are the creators, showrunners and executive producers. Don’t expect a release date or cast info – it’s too soon.
Netflix’s official logline for the series reads: “Assassin’s Creed is a high-octane thriller centered on the secret war between two shadowy factions — one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to preserve free will. The series follows its characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny.”
Bokin, head of content at Ubisoft Film & Television said: “We are so excited to work alongside Roberto, David, and our Netflix partners to bring this beloved franchise to series. We look forward to delivering an experience that speaks to the heart of what fans love about Assassin’s Creed, while introducing its unforgettable worlds and timeless themes to new audiences worldwide.”
This isn’t the first time Assassin’s Creed has been live-action. Of course they did the movie (trailer above) in 2016 that starred Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson. It wasn’t well received but did okay at the box office.
If they’re making an Assassin’s Creed series, which other video game would you like to see get the same treatment?
