Shinedown singer Brent Smith was recently a guest of “On With Mario Lopez” and talked about the progress of the songwriting and recording for the band’s eighth studio album. Smith said, ”We’ve been working on it for a little over a year, and we’re probably 75 percent finished with it right now. But the other side of it too is we’re already kind of constructing what the touring cycle looks like for 2026 and 2027. Obviously, we have a tour that we’re getting ready to do. But we released two singles as of right now, and we are also gonna follow that up later on this summer with two more singles. And then the announce of the album, we’re hoping to be able to present that this year. But anybody that knows us knows that when we’re in the studio and it’s time to write a Shinedown record, we have to make sure that it is a hundred percent authentic. So usually the album will talk to us and let us know when it’s finished.”
You’ve already heard a couple new songs from Shinedown’s new album – “Three Six Five” and “Dance, Kid, Dance” were released in January.
Shinedown’s 36-date “Dance, Kid, Dance” tour started this month at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. Beartooth and Bush open some dates, Morgan Wade is on all the shows.
Shinedown’s just released the official music video for their #1 song, “Dance, Kid, Dance”.
It’s been a big year for Shinedown. They won two trophies at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, “Rock Artist Of The Year” and “Rock Song Of The Year” for “A Symptom Of Being Human”.
On top of the trophies, “A Symptom Of Being Human” hit nearly 125 million global streams and went #1 at Active, Top 10 at Alternative, Top 10 at AC, Top 15 at Hot AC and a Top 20 at Top 40.
Shinedown became the only band in the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart’s history to reach twenty #1 songs. The band is also tied with Foo Fighters for the most songs to hit the top 10 in the chart’s history with 32 songs each!
With all of those accolades, is it weird to say that I think Shinedown is an underrated band?
