Tom Cruise says 'Top Gun 3' is in the pipeline - Todd Hancock

Tom Cruise must do nothing else but work on movies. He’s wrapping up working on the Mission: Impossible series and he’s confirmed that a Top Gun 3 movie is in the pipeline and he’s “working” on it.

Tom’s Mission: Impossilbe – The Final Reckoning hits theatres on May 21.

Cruise did an interview with Australia’s Today and said he’s working on the idea phase of Top Gun 3, “Yeah, we’re thinking and talking about many different stories and what could we do and what’s possible. It took me 35 years to figure out Top Gun: Maverick, so all of these things we’re working on, we’re discussing Days of Thunder and Top Gun: Maverick.”

Wait. Days of Thunder 2? Nice!

Meanwhile, in other Top Gun-related news, the cousin of a Top Gun: Maverick writer has filed a lawsuit against Paramount Pictures over script credits.According to the Hollywood Reporter, Shaun Gray says he wrote key scenes in the ’22 movie after screenwriter Eric Warren Singer and director Joseph Kosinski asked for his help. Gray wants profits from the movie as a co-writer or, alternatively, unspecified damages for copyright infringement.

Paramount Pictures says Gray’s lawsuit “is completely without merit” and that they “are confident that a court will reject this claim”.

Damn.
