Why can’t your favourite band(s) do this? Miley Cyrus announced a visual film, Something Beautiful, playing in theatres next month.

The film is being described as a ‘pop opera’. 13 original new songs from Cyrus’ new album of the same name (out May 30).
It’s set to show in North America theatres on June 12 before heading to the UK and worldwide on June 27. Tickets are on sale next Thursday. The theatrical release will come a week after the film’s world premiere, June 6 at New York City’s Tribeca Festival.
Cyrus says, “Something Beautiful is my dream project come true – fashion, film, and original music coexisting in harmony. My co-creators are all geniuses in their own right: from the masters of sound, Shawn Everett and Alan Meyerson, to one of cinema’s most unique directors, Panos Cosmatos serving as a producer. Each collaborator has used their expertise to make this fantasy a reality.”
Miley first shared album details in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in November. She called it a visual album inspired by Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ album.
Cyrus officially announced the album on March 24.
It’s not like I get home and play Miley Cyrus, but I’m interested in seeing this film. What’s your favourite artist/band film?
