Watch: St. Vincent covers The Beatles’ ‘Martha My Dear’!
If you know anything about me, it’s that I can’t get over a great cover song.
It may just be my ADD (or is that ADHD?), but I’ve probably played this St. Vincent cover of The Beatles’ ‘Martha My Dear’ about 20 times today. She recorded it during her guest appearance on the virtual Ally Coalition Annual Talent Show on Dec 21.
The talent show was raising money for homeless LGBTQ+ youth in the US.
Loved this St. Vincent performance. There were also performances by Hayley Williams, Lana Del Rey and Sleater-Kinney!
Meanwhile, you may have already heard, if not, last week St. Vincent said her new album is “locked and loaded for 2021“.
St. Vincent hasn’t released a new album since 2017’s “Masseduction”. Singer Annie Clark told Mojo magazine her new album sounds like, “the colour palette of the world of Taxi Driver” and “Gena Rowlands in a Cassavetes film”.
Cool. New music is on the way.
Man, I really love a good cover song.
Which is your favourite all-time? All of those Alice In Chains covers floating around lately are pretty stellar. Check them out.
