Watch New Trailer for “Borg Vs. McEnroe”
There’s a new trailer for Borg vs McEnroe and it’s awesome! Shia LaBeouf plays tennis champion John McEnroe, while Sverrir Gudnason is Swedish player Björn Borg.
The movie focuses on their 1980 Wimbledon showdown – McEnroe only 21 years old – Borg, 24 and aiming for his fifth title. “McEnroe is the bigger talent, but Björn Borg is like being hit by a sledgehammer,” one announcer says.
Not being a huge tennis fan – I can’t wait to watch this movie. We all know McEnroe as the hot head who yelled at umpires and tennis authorities. Borg won 11 Grandslam titles and retired at the age of 26. This match is regarded as one of the best all-time.
Danish filmmaker Janus Metz Pedersen (Armadillo, True Detective) directed Borg vs McEnroe. See it in theatres April 13th!
