U2 Grab Their Eighth #1 LP With ‘Songs of Experience’

December 11, 2017

U2’s new album “Songs Of Experience” (their 14th) had the best-selling week for any rock album in 2017 … and that was good enough to earn the band their 8th #1 album on Billboard.

U2’s new album sold 186,000 total copies in its first week of release – which is the best sales for a rock album since Metallica’s Hardwired… to Self-Destruct back in December 2016.

Songs of Experience (Rolling Stone named it the #3 best album of 2017) is U2’s first #1 album since 2009’s No Line on the Horizon. Since 1987, 2000’s All That You Can’t Leave Behind is the only album that didn’t reach #1 (peaked at #3).

Is U2’s new album the best rock album of 2017?
