“The Batman” looking for new director

February 1, 2017

After announcing that he’d be wearing all the hats in terms of the new “The Batman” movie, Ben Affleck has decided to scale back his responsibilities and won’t be directing the movie any longer.

Affleck will still star in the movie as Bruce Wayne and his Dark Knight counterpart, but will no longer be directing, confirmed by Warner Bros.
Said Affleck in a statement, “There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions. Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require.”
“Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director.”

On top of starring in the movie, Affleck’s been tied to the script as well. His “The Batman” script has apparently just seen a re-write from Chris Terrio, who’s best known for winning the 2012 Academy Award for Best Screenplay for Argo.

The Batman was supposed to start filming this Spring, but the plans to find a new director will likely push back filming. Fans can next see the Battfleck in Justice League, scheduled to hit theatres November 17th 2017.
