Tesla Drummer Troy Luccketta Taking Time Off Touring
Tesla drummer Troy Luccketta took to the band’s Facebook page to announce that he is going to “take a little time from the road” to spend with family and friends. Drummer Steve Brown (Oleander, Ronnie Montrose) will cover the gigs!
Luccketta wrote, “Dear Tesla Fan’s! After 35 plus years of touring with Tesla I have decided to take a little time from the road to spend with family and friends. I am happy and well, and couldn’t be more grateful to my bandmates for this opportunity. I am also looking forward to some musical ventures closer to home so I will keep you all updated. In my absence please show some love to Steve Brown. Steve is a dear friend, and great drummer! He has played with Oleander, Ronnie Montrose just to name a few. He is one of Sacramento’s finest, The perfect choice so to speak! I am filled with nothing but Love and gratitude. I look forward to reconnecting with you all again in the near future.”
You may remember that last month Tesla postponed several shows due to members of their camp (including guitarist Frank Hannon) coontracting COVID-19. Hannon said that he had “not been able to move all week” and had a fever of 102 and could “hardly breathe” on the day the band was supposed to start the tour.
Tesla are back on the road starting September 16 in Roanoke, Virginia.
Are you surprised to see bands attempting to tour while the pandemic is still kicking ass?
And finally, remember when Troy was a guest? Here’s the visit, in case you missed it!
