Steven Tyler raises $800K For Charity selling super-car

February 7, 2017

Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler sold an incredibly rare super-car to benefit his charitable organization Janie’s Fund.

Tyler’s Hennessey Venom GT was auctioned off at “The World’s Greatest Car Collection” auction in Scottsdale, Arizona. Barrett Jackson was the man responsible for the auction.

Tyler also threw in a vacation stay at his Hawaii home and a guitar autographed by fellow band members of AEROSMITH. The car sold for $800,000, with all proceeds going to Janie’s Fund.

The 2012 Hennessey Venom GT set the world speed record for 2-seat sports cars at 270.49, living up to the name “the fastest street-legal sports car.” Only 12 of the cars were ever made.

Janie’s Fund is a philanthropic partnership between Steven Tyler and Youth Villages, a nonprofit organization. As stated on their website Janie’s Fund’s goal is “to bring hope and healing for many of our country’s most vulnerable girls who have suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect.”
