Something About System Of A Down

October 26, 2022

System of a Down singer Serj Tankian’s new five song solo EP ‘Perplex Cities’ was released last Friday (October 21) and is the follow-up to his ’21 EP ‘Elasticity’.

Tankian was recently interviewed on Louisville, Kentucky, noncommercial radio station 91.9 WFPK and talked with host Kyle Meredith about the future for System of a Down, “As of now, we haven’t talked about anything. We will be making an announcement about something next year that I can’t really tell you about. So there is that. But further than that, I can’t really say.”

You may remember that back in ’20, System released their first new music in 15 years, with ‘Protect The Land’ and ‘Genocidal Humanoidz’.

Both songs were released in an effort to raise awareness and funds amid “a dire and serious war” between Artsakh and Azerbaijan. All proceeds supported humanitarian efforts in Armenia.

SOAD was on a hiatus from 2006 to 2010 and despite touring here and there, haven’t released a full-length album since ’05 albums ‘Mezmerize’ and ‘Hypnotize’.

They played a handful of U.S. concerts back in January and February of this year.

Do you think we’ll ever hear another System of a Down album? Or just the random song here and there?
