Slipknot’s New Album To Arrive In 2022

January 13, 2022

Sounds like you can expect a new Slipknot album this year! Singer Corey Taylor recently jumped on his Twitter account to announce that the follow-up to 2019’s “We Are Not Your Kind” will be out in 2022. It was recorded last year with Joe Barresi (Avenged Sevenfold, QOTSA, Chevelle)!

You may remember that Slipknot put out a new song, “The Chapeltown Rag” in November ’21 that Taylor called “classic Slipknot”. That song was inspired by a Netflix documentary he watched about the Yorkshire Ripper serial killer who murdered multiple women in the West Yorkshire, UK suburb Chapeltown in the late 1970s.

Taylor added, “And it’s frenetic. But lyrically, it’s coming from a point of talking about the various manipulations that can happen when social media meets media itself. And the different ways that these manipulations can try to pull us in different directions, in the fact that we’re all becoming addicts to it, which is very, very dangerous.”

This new album will follow up 2019’s “We Are Not Your Kind”; that sold 118,000 albums in the US in the first week of release and was Billboard 200’s #1 album. It also debuted #1 in the following countries: the United Kingdom, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Japan, Ireland, Belgium, Portugal and Finland.

Do you think Slipknot’s new album will top Billboard’s album chart?
