Sevendust’s Lajon Witherspoon Working On A “More Soulful” Debut Solo Album!
Sevendust singer Lajon Witherspoon was recently interviewed on Springfield, Illinois radio station 97.7 QLZ and talked about his forthcoming debut solo album: “It’s different. It’s got some rock in there, but [it’s] a lot more soulful. I think it’s even a little bit more radio friendly, if it’s okay to say it. Also, there’s some country in there.”
Witherspoon went on to say: “It’s a different avenue than Sevendust, but I think that some people who like Sevendust can hang out on the avenue and jam and still rock out. But I definitely feel like I’m going down a different — I’m just doing something a little bit different.”
Remember, Witherspoon released the standalone single “Love Song” in 2017. You gotta wonder how close will his debut solo album be to this? ‘Cause this is a cool vibe.
Cannot wait to hear this debut solo album. I’ll try n’ grab Lajon for a podcast visit.
Sevendust has got to be one of the most underrated rock bands. In your opinion, which other bands are underrated?
