Why am I just now learning about this Radiohead side-project called The Smile?

The trio, Radiohead’s Thom Yorke & Jonny Greenwood and Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner, released their debut single “You Will Never Work In Television Again” (video above) and the follow-up, “The Smoke”, earlier this month (below).

The Smile recently played a few shows (Jan 29/30) at The Magazine venue in London and live-streamed each event.

Now they confirmed a European tour, starting in Zagreb on May 16, hitting Vienna (May 17), Prague (19), Berlin (20), Stockholm (23), Oslo (24) and Amsterdam (27). Then it’s back to London May 29/30, Edinburgh’s Usher Hall (June 1) and Manchester’s Albert Hall (2).

Hopefully this means some North American dates are being considered too?

What’s your favourite spin-off band? I might go Temple Of The Dog. Brilliant album.
