Pirates Of The Caribbean reveals new character
The Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise is no stranger to high-profile music guests, and a very high-profile musician has revealed more about his role in the upcoming movie.
Sir Paul McCartney will guest star in the upcoming Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. McCartney’s scene was filmed around March after the movie had already wrapped production, in what was being described as “a big set-piece scene” (via Deadspin.)
Not much is known about the former Beatles role in the movie, except that iMDb currently lists his role as “Prison Guard 2.” McCartney’s has several movie credits to his name, and although a huge number of those are for his soundtrack work, he still has 30 acting credits to his name.
This makes McCartney the second member of the British Invasion to feature in a Pirates movie – the first being Keith Richards, portraying Captain Jack Sparrow’s father Captain Teague in the fourth Pirates movie, On Stranger Tides. Pirates actor Johnny Depp had commented in the past that several of Jack Sparrow’s mannerisms were based off Richards.
Depp’s also appeared in three of McCartney’s music videos; “My Valentine” in 2012, 2013’s “Queenie Eye,” and “Early Days” in 2014.
