Musonia School Of Music: Theft Of Former Randy Rhoads Music Gear

December 4, 2019

** EDITOR’S NOTE ** – Several items have been recovered! The first electric guitar Randy Rhoads ever played, a Harmony Rocket from 1963, and two horns that belonged to his late mother are still missing.

This is a terrible story. Did you hear about this? A thief recently hit North Hollywood, California’s Musonia School Of Music and stole music gear that once belonged to legendary Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Randy Rhoads.

The School Of Music was founded more than 70 years ago by Randy’s mother, Delores Rhoads.

On the Randy Rhoads Society Facebook page, they wrote, “I’ve been informed that someone has broken into MUSONIA and stolen Delores Rhoads instruments & some of Randy’s QUIET RIOT gear! Completely unbelievable that someone would do this to the Rhoads family whom are always there for the fans and are very friendly and approachable. Totally blows me away! I have been asked by Kathy Rhoads to put this info out there, especially to the people in LA. We hope that someone will maybe hear something or maybe be of help acquiring the stuff back for Kathy Rhoads & family. I was told by Kathy that they can’t really give too much info as of right now due to an active investigation. Regardless it’s very sad to hear as Randy & Delores are no longer with us which makes these stolen items priceless and irreplaceable. I will pass on more info as I get it . Any help finding info or the stolen items is much appreciated. It’s sad someone would do this to the Randy’s family! Kathy is understandably very upset right now.”

The idea behind Musonia School Of Music is simple. A place where children and adults in the local community could receive music education at an affordable price. To this day, they continue to do the same (run by Delores’s son Kelle Rhoads); teaching local students of all ages piano, drums, and guitar.

Randy Rhoads learned how to play guitar at Musonia.

Who does this? Talk about lowlife.
