Metallica’s Kirk Hammett To Launch Comic Book Series
AMC Networks is launching a book publishing division called AMC Networks Publishing to focus on specialty books, comics, original graphic novels and more. One of the comic series they’ll debut is “Nights Of Lono” by Metallica’s lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and his writing partner/co-creator Marcel Feldmar!
The other comic series AMC Networks Publishing will debut is from New York Times bestselling author Brenden Fletcher (“Batgirl”, “Gotham Academy”). There’s lots more releases, best check them out here.

Hammett and Feldmar’s “Nights Of Lono” is about a troubled female detective in 1989 Hawaii, who is hired to find King Kamehameha’s tomb. Think mystery and supernatural and fresh takes on the myths and folklore of the Hawaiian Islands.
You may know that this isn’t Hammett’s first foray into books. He released a coffee table book in 2012 called “Too Much Horror Business”. That one was all about his extensive collection of monster and horror memorabilia.
Meanwhile, Hammett’s first solo release, “Portals”, comes out April 23rd. “This music was created with what I describe as an ‘audio-cinematic’ approach. They’re soundtracks to the movies in your mind.”
Very cool to see Hammett explore this side of his unique creativity! Can’t wait to read his comic book series.
