Members of Slipknot confirm : Band to write new music beginning February 2017

November 23, 2016

Slipknot fans had to wait six long years for 2014’s .5 : The Gray Chapter, but two members claim fans WON’T have to wait nearly as long for new music.

Percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan plans to meet up with guitarist Jim Root in February to start hammering out some new music. Crahan suggested the band wants to try out some new approaches to songwriting as well.

“We are not gonna sit around while everyone goes and does their thing, because everyone does their thing. Some people rest, some people do other bands, whatever. All of us feel, I am talking about everybody, Corey Taylor, Jim Root, we all feel that for the last 20 years we have been doing it one way, so it would be nice to just like examine the song. So we are going to get together in February and we are going to work with different people, different places, make experiences and take the opportunity to get back into a rehearsal room with a lot of us and jam and not feel like a lot of pressure like, ‘Okay we have to get together and in three months write this album.” – Shawn Crahan
