Jurrasic World 2 confirms return of series favorite

April 4, 2017

Jurassic World 2 has confirmed that one of the series most adored characters has been cast for the upcoming sequel.

Producer Colin Trevorrow confirmed that “Rexy” the T-Rex will return to Jurassic World 2. Trevorrow made the announcement on Twitter while responding to a fan, who’s probably going to be overjoyed once she does wake up.

“Rexy” was the nickname given to the original T-Rex from the first Jurassic Park. A little older now, Rexy’s joints don’t move the way they used to. Trevorrow spoke to SlashFilms about Rexy’s return and had much to say;

“The T-Rex that’s in the film is the T-Rex from the original Jurassic Park and she is 22 years older. But, she’s not limping around. … We took the original design and obviously, technology has changed. So, it’s going to move a little bit differently, but it’ll move differently because it’s older. And we’re giving her some scars and we’re tightening her skin. So, she has that feeling of, like, an older Burt Lancaster. And this movie is her Unforgiven.”

Sounds like Rexy might be going from surprise closer to a much bigger part of the movie!

Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt will reprise their original roles as well. Jurassic World 2 is currently filming and is set for release on June 22, 2018.
