Joni Mitchell Honoured As 2022 MusiCares Person of the Year
You gotta love that Canadian singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell will be the 2022 MusiCares person of the year and will be honoured at the annual gala on Jan. 29, 2022.
Mitchell said, “I’m honored to be chosen as person of the year by this great charity. I look forward to being part of this gala that will help MusiCares continue their inspired work in providing a support system for those in need.”
Mitchell is the first person of the year honoree since Aerosmith a couple years ago. And yes, you can thank COVID for that. The annual event was put on hold last year and replaced by the Music on a Mission fundraiser.
Mitchell is also only the second artist who was born in Canada to receive the honour. Neil Young was honoured in 2010.
