Hear An Unreleased Freddie Mercury song!

June 21, 2019

This one takes you back to 1985. Singer/producer Dave Clark met Queen frontman Freddie Mercury at London’s Abbey Road Studios to record “Time”, the title track to Mercury’s sci-fi rock musical. Now there’s a previously unreleased version that’s being released as a new single, “Time Waits For No One”.

Word has it, before the duo wrapped up the recording session, Clark asked Mercury to sing the song, using just a piano.

“It (became) a mega-production, which I was happy with and Freddie loved,” Clark says. “But I didn’t think about what we had originally done until a decade or so later, when I thought, ‘I’ve never felt that sort of goosebumps feeling that I got on that original run-through at Abbey Road with just Freddie and piano.’ ”

Mercury died in 1991 and his music still resonates today.

Is Freddie Mercury the best rock frontman of all-time? If not, who is?
