Green Day Is Working on “new music and adventures”!

July 5, 2021

Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt were recently guests of the band’s own Oakland Coffee “Morning Roast” interview series and mentioned that new music could be coming soon!

Dirnt said, “New music… and unknown adventures.”

Green Day’s last album ‘Father Of All Motherfuckers’ was released in early 2020.

When asked about finding influence, Dirnt said, “Individual expression, anything from music, and architecture, to cooking or gardening. I’m inspired by people with a unique take on life and the things they do.”

Singer Billie Joe Armstrong said “inspiration comes in all forms. It could be hearing a new song, it could be going surfing, it could be hanging out with my dogs. I could just be hanging out with my friends and playing music together. Inspiration is sort of overrated. I’d prefer to work. When you work with music and art, you usually come up with something you love. And that’s what inspires you to keep doing what you love.”

Meanwhile Green Day are headlining 2022’s Rock am Ring and Rock im Park along with Muse and Volbeat. The band will be over in the UK next summer with Weezer and Fall Out Boy.

Big news if you’re a fan of Green Day. New music is on the way!
