‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ & ‘Morbius’ Release Dates Pushed Back

March 31, 2020

Not surprisingly, in light of the coronavirus pandemic, Ghostbusters: Afterlife’s release date has been pushed back.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife (filmed last summer in Calgary and small-town Alberta) was supposed to be released to theatres on July 10th, 2020 – now, it’s out March 5th, 2021.

Meanwhile, other Sony films are facing the same fate – Moribus with Jared Leto and Tom Hanks’ Second World War film Greyhound are both delayed to theatres. Moribus moves from July 31, 2020 to March 19, 2021. And originally scheduled to be released on June 12, 2020, Greyhound doesn’t even have a new release date.

No surprise that production companies are pushing back release dates – they could release on streaming platforms, Netflix is absolutely killing it right now. But will that happen? You gotta think, probably not – it defeats the purpose of seeing these huge Hollywood blockbusters on the big screen (where they’re meant to be seen).

What’s the best movie you’ve seen lately?
