Word is Paramount Pictures is working on a spin-off of John Hughes’ classic movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Deadline is reporting that Cobra Kai creators are working on this spin-off script.
The new movie is called Sam and Victor’s Day Off, and will “follow the same-day adventure of the titular valets who took the Ferrari on a joy ride in the Matthew Broderick-starrer.”
You may remember that during the first COVID lockdown in 2002, the cast of Ferris Bueller’s Day Of united for Josh Gad’s web series ‘Reunited Apart’.
The episode ended with the original movie’s cast, including Molly Ringwald, Steve Martin, Catherine O’Hara, Michael Keaton, Judd Nelson and Anthony Michael Hall – recreating lines.
The episode raised money for CORE, which “provides financial relief when a food and beverage employee with children faces a health crisis, death or natural disaster”.
Some online critics are saying this spin-off should never happen. AKA ‘don’t touch the classics’. What do you think?
