FCC chairman rejects Trump’s Suggestion

October 17, 2017

Trump will have to endure more “fake news” if the FCC has anything to say about it.

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission’s chairman Ajit Pai said yesterday (Oct 17) that the FCC doesn’t have authority to revoke broadcast licenses, even thought that would are right up US President Donald Trump’s alley.

Pai said, “Under the law, the FCC does not have the authority to revoke a license of a broadcast station based on the content. The FCC under my leadership will stand for the First Amendment.”

The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

“With all of the Fake News coming out of NBC and the Networks, at what point is it appropriate to challenge their License? Bad for country!” Trump tweeted on Wednesday.

Will Trump succeed in gagging all “fake news” broadcast channels? Only time will tell.
