Ewan McGregor hasn’t starred in a Star Wars movie since 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. That’s about to change, as Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy confirmed he’s back to star as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new Star Wars TV series.

Kennedy made the announcement this past Friday (Aug 23) during Disney’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. All the Obi-Wan series scripts are written and production starts next year. Pretty exciting, right?

Meanwhile, the final instalment of the franchise, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is in theatres December 20th!
