Does Blur’s ’23 Wembley Stadium Concert Mean New Music?

November 19, 2022

Have you heard?! Blur is doing a one-off UK reunion show at London’s Wembley Stadium next summer! Feel like rockin’ a road-trip? Check here to see if there are still tickets available.

They’re scheduled to play Wembley on Saturday, July 8/9. Slowthai, Self Esteem and Jockstrap are the opening bands.

This show is Blur’s first headlining set since 2015.

As you’d think, the band had some thoughts about the show.

Singer Damon Albarn said, “We really love playing these songs and thought it’s about time we did it again.”

Guitarist Graham Coxon said, “I’m really looking forward to playing with my Blur brothers again and revisiting all those great songs. Blur live shows are always amazing for me: a nice guitar and an amp turned right up and loads of smiling faces.”

Bassist Alex James said, “There’s always something really special when the four of us get in a room. It’s nice to think that on July 8 that room will be Wembley Stadium.”

And drummer Dave Rowntree said, “After the chaos of the last few years, it’s great to get back out to play some songs together on a summer’s day in London. Hope to see you there.”

How ’bout that! Blur reuniting for a one-off UK show! Pretty exciting! New music would be even better. If you could reunite any band, alive or dead, which band would it be?
