‘Black Mirror’ novels have been postponed

October 31, 2018

This isn’t good news if you’re a Black Mirror fan. Series creator Charlie Brooker has confirmed that the planned spin-off novels have been postponed. Indefinitely.

Just before they released season 4 last year, Brooker said there were 3 novels being worked on (and that he was going to edit them), “All-new Black Mirror stories from exciting authors – that’s a joyous prospect. And they’re appearing in a high-tech new format known as a ‘book’.”

Now, those novels have been postponed due to time limitations. “It was slightly tricky,” Brooker says, “[The novels] ended up demanding slightly more involvement than myself and Annabel had time for – so we sort of messed up a bit there! I’m not sure when or if that [book series] will appear. Probably not.”

There IS a book coming out tomorrow (Nov 1) called “Inside Black Mirror”. So there’s that.

Production for season 5 started earlier this year (and there’s going to be a choose-your-own-adventure episode). Pretty cool, right?
