Bid on Billie Eilish, Beastie Boys, Social Distortion Personalized Coolers!
When they auctioned off customized Green Day, The National, Leon Bridges & more Yeti coolers back in August ’20, they raised more than $135K for live music crews affected by COVID-19! And more artists are back for a second round of auctioning!
This time, more than 30 artists including Billie Eilish, Social Distortion and Beastie Boys have personalized Yeti coolers. At last check, Billie’s is at $1,500, Social Distortion is $5,500 and Beastie Boys cooler bid is $3,015.
You can currently bid for coolers at the One For The Roadies auction (it closes at 4pm on January 12). Proceed will go to Crew Nation, a global fund set up by Live Nation to help crew members who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
As you’ll see in the above link provided, there’s a bunch of artists taking part, including Tenacious D, My Morning Jacket, Wilco, Fleet Foxes, Fitz and the Tantrums & more!
The auction site reads, “The global COVID-19 pandemic has negatively impacted people worldwide, and live music road crews are no exception. Many do not have ample health insurance and do not qualify for unemployment or government subsidies. Due to the length of this pandemic remaining unknown, road crews who dedicate their lives to supporting others, need support now more than ever.”
What a great cause!
This is what (one part of) the music industry needs.
Now, something needs to be done about all the venues who are taking a shit-kicking.
If you can afford it and you’re ever going to buy some band memorabilia, now is the perfect time. You have til January 12, 2021.
