ALICE IN CHAINS’ ‘Black Antenna’ Film Project

December 14, 2018

Alice In Chains released “Rainier Fog” earlier this year (their first album in 5 years). Did you know it went to No. 1 on Billboard’s Rock, Alternative and Hard Music Charts and No. 1 on the iTunes Rock Album Chart? And, it’s up for a Grammy for “Best Rock Album.”

Well, there’s more.

The band recently announced a “Rainier Fog” movie project called “Black Antenna” (being produced and directed by filmmaker Adam Mason). Mason has made a 90-minute sci-fi movie based around the band’s music. There’ll be 10 episodes / videos released starting in January 2019.

“We’ve always toyed with the idea of creating videos for every song on one of our albums,” says drummer Sean Kinney. “Not only did we do that for ‘Rainier Fog’, it got totally out of hand and we made a whole goddamn movie. Everything that will be seen in the videos will be footage from ‘Black Antenna’ to preface the complete film’s release.”

Great idea, right? Which other artist/band would you like to see do the same thing?
