WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT WHEN YOU DIE
It may sound morbid, but do you know what you’d want done with your Facebook account after you die?
The social network is now allowing you to decide. It’s allowing what it calls a “legacy contact” to be assigned to your account posthumously.
Don’t worry, you can also choose to have you presence deleted entirely.
Previously, Facebook automatically froze the accounts of deceased members it learned had died, angering some heirs who wanted to edit the deceased’s online presence.
Facebook legacy contacts will be able to manage accounts in a way that can turn the deceased person’s Facebook page into a kind of digital gravestone.
