The Beatles’ first management contract sells for $545,000 at auction!
The Beatles’ first management contract, signed with long-term manager Brian Epstein, has sold at Sotherby’s Rock & Pop Auction for $545,000 (Canadian dollars).
It is the only managerial contract signed by all four Beatles members (in 1962) – McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr – and their manager Epstein.
Earlier this month, a recording contract signed by The Beatles in 1961 sold for over $100,000!
New York auction house Heritage Auctions confirmed the sale of the contract on September 19 with an unknown bidder paying $93,750. It was sold by the estate of German Beatles collector Uwe Blaschke.
