STONE SOUR RELEASES VIDEO FOR NEW MOVIE ‘FEAR CLINIC’
Stone Sour has released a music video for a song called “The Dark” in conjunction with the release of Fear Clinic, a new horror movie in which Stone Sour and Slipknot singer Corey Taylor makes his acting debut.
The movie arrived on DVD, Blu-ray and VOD on Tuesday (February 10th). The song, a cover of the title track from cult metal act Metal Church’s 1986 second album, was recorded specially for the movie in March 2014.
In addition to Taylor, the movie stars the original Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund, along with Fiona Dourif, Angelina Armani, Thomas Dekker and others.
Taylor said that a lot of the other actors in the film didn’t know about his music career at first: “A few of them came up and they were like, ‘You know, I really didn’t know anything about you until I realized you were gonna be in this movie and then I Googled you — Holy God!’ Like 10 people came up and said that to me, so I thought it was, you know, I got a kick out of that.”
The movie is based on a popular online series about a doctor who uses unorthodox and terrifying methods to cure his patients of their phobias.
Stone Sour has been working on a covers album called Meanwhile In Burbank that is scheduled to come out sometime later this year.
The band has not revealed which songs or artists it will cover for the set, and it is not clear if “The Dark” will be included.
