Stephen King’s JFK time-travel drama 11.22.63
A full-length trailer for 11.22.63, a new time-travel mystery drama starring James Franco and based on the novel by Stephen King, has been released (below).
The eight-episode series is produced by Star Wars director and Lost creator JJ Abrams, and focuses on a teacher from the modern day who travels back to 1958 in order to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, which occurred on the November 22, 1963.
The series raises doubts about the culpability of Lee Harvey Oswald as Franco’s character investigates the circumstances around the assassination. It premieres on Hulu in February, and is the biggest original production by the streaming service to date.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Abrams said, “This is a book that I had loved long before Stephen King reached out and asked if I’d be interested in getting involved to produce. We did go out to a number of places and had some offers, but the enthusiasm [at Hulu] was clear and it matched ours.”
Actors joining Franco on screen include Transformers actor Josh Duhamel, 24‘s Lucy James and Grey’s Anatomy‘s T.R. Knight. The series begins on February 15.
