‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ soundtrack tracklisting reveals potential plot spoilers

The tracklisting for John Williams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens soundtrack was released over the weekend – likely by accident.

All 23 songs titles were posted on Amazon France and immediately removed, but not before Star Wars fans grabbed them and shared them on message boards.


Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues the franchise’s long-term collaboration with Williams, who also scored the six previous Star Wars movies.

John Williams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens soundtrack album will be released on Friday, December 18 – the same day the film opens in US cinemas.

The story takes place 30 years after the events of Return Of The Jedi but specific plot details are being kept tightly under wraps. The film’s script was written by director JJ Abrams, Toy Story 3 writer Michael Arndt and Star Wars franchise veteran Lawrence Kasdan.

Actor Mark Hamill has suggested that his character Luke Skywalker will be in isolation during The Force Awakens, adding: “There are lots of surprises in this movie.”
